Beautiful and beneficial

BEAUTIFUL AND BENEFICIAL

Do you wish to get Married?
Do you wish to have a Baby?
Do you wish to get a Job?
Do you wish to have more Rizq?
Do you wish to get Healthy and get Cured?
Do you wish that all your problems go away?

A man came to Sheikh Abdul Azīz Ibn Bāz complaining that he wishes to have a child, and that he has been waiting for it for seven years, but no luck.
Sheikh Ibn Bāz answered him with one sentence, he said: Increase Istighfār (Asking Allāh for forgiveness by saying Astaghfirullāh). After one year this man came back to Sheikh Ibn Bāz and said: Ya Sheikh! I got the child I wanted, Alhamdulillāh.

A man came to the famous Al-Hassan Al-Basri and said: The sky is not raining. Al-Hassan said: Istighfār.
Another man walked in and said to Al-Hassan: I suffer from poverty. Al-Hassan answered: Istighfār.
Then another man walked in and said to Al-Hassan: My wife does not bare children. Al-Hassan said: Istighfār.
The people who were present at the Majlis of Al-Hassan said: How come every time someone comes to you with an issue you just say Istighfār?

Al-Hassan answered: Didn’t you read the words of Allāh when he says:

"Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers, And give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers."
—71:10-12

Allāhu Akbar! All this just in Dunyā. What about the 'Ākhirah? Isn’t it enough that Istighfār protects the believer from the punishment. Allāh promised not to punish us for our mistakes in two conditions, the first: while the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) is among us and we all know that chance is no longer valid. The second condition was seeking forgiveness; Allāh says:

But Allāh would not punish them while you, [O Muhammad], are among them, and Allāh would not punish them while they seek forgiveness
— 8:33

The fourth Khalifa of Islām, Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allāh be pleased with him) said: It is surprising to see someone perish while he has the tool of survival, they said: what is it? He said: Al-istighfār.

So never leave Istighfār my dear sisters and brothers. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Fortunate is the person who finds in his record of deeds a lot of Istighfār.

Istighfār relieves you. When you feel that sadness within you, when you are disturbed and frustrated, when anxiety surrounds you, say “Astaghfirullāh"

Ibn Abbās (May Allāh be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allāh (peace be upon him) said,
“If anyone constantly seeks pardon (from Allāh), Allāh will appoint for him a way out of every distress and a relief from every anxiety, and will provide sustenance for him from where he expects not.” [Abu Dāwūd].

Here are some Āyāt from the Qur'ān with great promises from Allāh:
Then, verily! Your Lord for those who do evil (commit sins and are disobedient to Allāh) in ignorance and afterward repent and do righteous deeds, verily, your Lord thereafter, (to such) is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
[An-Nahl 16:119]

Your Lord knows best what is in your inner-selves. If you are righteous, then, verily, He is Ever Most Forgiving to those who turn unto Him again and again in obedience, and in repentance.
[Al-Isra 17:25]

And verily, I am indeed Forgiving to him who repents, believes (in My Oneness, and associates none in worship with Me) and does righteous good deeds, and then remains constant in doing them, (till his death).
[Ta-Ha 20:82]

Zulhijjah is the last month of the Islamic calendar.
Literally, it means ” the possessor of hajj .”
Obviously, this name of the month indicates that
the great annual worship of “ hajj ” is performed in
this month, which gives it special significance.
Some specific merits and rules relevant to this
month are mentioned below:
First Ten Days
The first ten days of Zulhijjah are among the most
magnificent days in Islamic calendar. The Holy
Prophet, Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam, has said,
“One fast during these days is equal to the fasting
of one complete year, and the worship of one night
during this period is equal to the worship in the
“Lailatul-Qadr”.
Every Muslim should avail of this wonderful
opportunity by performing during this period as
much Iba’dah (acts of worship) to Allah as he or
she can.
The 9th day of Zulhijjah
The 9th day of Zulhijjah is called ‘Youmul -
“Arafah’ (The Day of ‘Arafah). This is the date
when the Hujjaj (Haji pilgrims, plural of Haajj)
assemble on the plain of ‘Arafat, six miles away
from Makkah al-Mukarramah, where they perform
the most essential part of the prescribed duties of
hajj , namely, the ‘Wuqoof of’Arafat (the stay in
‘Arafat).
The Fast of Youmul ‘Arafah
For those not performing hajj , it is mustahabb
(desirable) to fast on this day according to their
own calendar. It sometimes occurs that 9th
Zuihijjah falls on different days in different
countries according to the sighting of the moon. In
such cases, Muslims of each country should
observe ‘Youmul ‘Arafah according to the lunar
dates of their own country.
For example, if ’Youmul ‘Arafah’ is being observed
in Saudi Arabia on Friday, and in Pakistan on
Saturday, Pakistani Muslims should treat Saturday
as ‘Youmul ‘Arafah’ and should fast on that day if
they desire to benefit from the fast of
‘Youmul’Arafah’.
The fast of ’Youmul ‘Arafah’ has been emphasized
by the Holy Prophet, Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam,
as a mustahabb (desirable) act. According to a
hadith, the fast of this day becomes a cause,
hopefully so, of forgiveness for sins committed in
one year.
Takbir-ut-tashriq
Beginning from the Fajr of the 9th Zulhijjah up to
the ‘Asr prayer of the 13th, it is obligatory on each
Muslim to recite the Takbir of Tashriq after every
fard prayer in the following words.
Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar,
La Ilaha Illallahu, Wallahu Akbar,
Allahu Akbar wa lillahilhamd.
(There is no god but Allah and Allah is the
greatest, Allah is the greatest and to Allah belongs
all praise.)
According to authentic Islamic sources, it is
obligatory on each Muslim, to recite this Takbir
after every fard salah. For women also, it is
commendable though not obligatory. Whether you
are performing salah with Jama’ah (collectively) or
on your own (individually) makes no difference.
You must recite the Takbir. However, male
Muslims should recite it in a loud voice, while
females should recite it in a low voice.
On the Eid day
The following acts are sunnah on the day of Eidul-
adha :
1. To wake up early in the morning.
2. To clean one’s teeth with a miswak or brush
3. To take bath.
4. To put on one’s best available clothes.
5. To use perfume.
6. Not to eat before the Eid prayer.
7. To recite the Takbir of Tashriq in a loud voice
while going to the Eid prayer.
How to Perform Eid Prayers (Hanafi School)
The Eid prayer has two raka’at performed in the
normal way, with the only addition of six Takbirs,
three of them in the beginning of the first raka’ah,
and three of them just before ruku’ in the second
raka’ah. The detailed way of performing the Eid
prayer is as follows:
The Imam will begin the prayer without Adhan or
iqamah. He will begin the prayer by reciting Takbir
of Tahrimah (Allahu Akbar). You should raise your
hands up to the ears, and after reciting the Takbir,
you should set your hands on your navel. The
Imam will give a little pause during which you
should recite Thana’ (Subhanakallahumma .:.).
After the completion of Thana’, the Imam will recite
Takbir (Allahu Akbar) three times. At the first two
calls of Takbir you should raise your hands up to
the ears, and after reciting Takbir (Allahu Akbar) in
a low voice, should bring your hands down and
leave them earthwards. But, after the third Takbir,
you should set them on your navel as you do in
the normal prayers.
After these three Takbirs, the Imam will recite the
Holy Qur’an, which you should listen calmly and
quietly. The rest of the raka’ah will be performed
in the normal way.
After rising for the second raka’ah, the Imam will
begin the recitations from the Holy Qur’an during
which you should remain calm and quiet. When the
Imam finishes his recitation, he will recite three
Takbirs once again, but this time it will be just
before bowing down for ruku’. At each Takbir you
should raise your hands up to the ears, and after
saying ‘Allahu Akbar’, bring them down and leave
them earthwards. After these three takbirs have
been called and completed, the Imam will say
another takbir for bowing down into the ruku’
position. At this takbir you need not raise your
hands. You just bow down for your ruku’ saying,
‘Allahu Akbar’. The rest of the salah will be
performed in its usual way.
Khutbah: The Address of Eidul-Adha
In this salah of Eid, Khutbah is a sunnah and is
delivered after the salah, unlike the salah of
Jumu’ah where it is fard and is delivered before
the salah. However, listening to the khutbah of Eid
salah is wajib or necessary and must be listened
to in perfect peace and silence.
It is a sunnah that the Imam begins the first
Khutbah by reciting takbir ( Allahu Akbar ) nine
times and the second Khutbah with reciting it
seven times.
Note:
The way of Eid prayer described above is
according to the Hanafi school of Muslim jurists.
Some other jurists, like Imam Shafi’i, have some
other ways to perform it. They recite Takbir twelve
times before beginning the recitations of the Holy
Qur’an in both the raka’at. This way is also
permissible. If the Imam, being of the Shafi’i
school, follows this way, you can also follow him.
Both ways are based on the practice of the Holy
Prophet, Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam.
Sacrifice or Qurbani: Philosophy and Rules
The Urdu and persian word Qurbani (Sacrificial
slaughter) is derived from the Arabic word Qurban .
Lexically, it means an act performed to seek
Allah’s pleasure. Originally, the word Qurban
included all acts of charity because the purpose of
charity is nothing but to seek Allah’s pleasure.
But, in precise religious terminology, the word was
later confined to the sacrifice of an animal
slaughtered for the sake of Allah.
The sacrifice of an animal has always been treated
as a recognized form of worship in all religious
orders originating from a divine book. Even in
pagan societies, the sacrifice of an animal is
recognized as a form of worship, but it is done in
the name of some idols and not in the name of
Allah, a practice totally rejected by Islam.
In the Shari’ah of our beloved Prophet, Sall-Allahu
alayhi wa sallam, the sacrifice of an animal has
been recognized as a form of worship only during
three days of Zulhijjah, namely, the 10th, 1lth and
12th of the month. This is to commemorate the
unparalleled sacrifice offered by the Prophet
Sayyidna Ibrahim, Alayhi Salam, when he, in
pursuance to a command of Allah conveyed to him
in a dream, prepared himself to slaughter his
beloved son, Sayyidna Isma’il, Alayhi Salam, and
actually did so but, Allah Almighty, after testing his
submission, sent down a sheep and saved his son
from the logical fate of slaughter. It is from that
time onwards that the sacrifice of an animal
became an obligatory duty to be performed by
every well to do Muslim.
Qurbani is a demonstration of total submission to
Allah and a proof of complete obedience to Allah’s
will or command. When a Muslim offers a Qurbani,
this is exactly what he intends to prove. Thus, the
Qurbani offered by a Muslim signifies that he is a
slave of Allah at his best and that he would not
hesitate even for a moment, once he receives an
absolute command from his Creator, to surrender
before it, to obey it willingly, even if it be at the
price of his life and possessions. When a true and
perfect Muslim receives a command from Allah, he
does not make his obedience dependent upon the
command’s reasonability’ as perceived through
his limited understanding. He knows that Allah is
All-knowing, All-Wise and that his own reason
cannot encompass the knowledge and wisdom
underlying the divine command. He, therefore,
submits to the divine command, even if he cannot
grasp the reason or wisdom behind it.
This is exactly what the Prophet Ibrahim, Alayhi
Salam, did. Apparently, there was no reason why a
father should slaughter his innocent son. But,
when came the command from Allah, he never
asked about the reason for that command, nor did
he hesitate to follow it. Even his minor son when
asked by his father about the dream he had seen,
never questioned the legitimacy of the command,
nor did he pine or whine about it, nor did he ask
for one good reason why he was being
slaughtered. The one and only response he made
was:
‘Father, do what you have been ordered to do. You
shall find me, God willing, among the patient”.
The present-day Qurbani is offered in memory of
this great model of submission set before us by
the great father and the great son. So Qurbani
must be offered in our time emulating the same
ideal and attitude of submission.
This, then, is the true philosophy of Qurbani. With
this in mind, one can easily unveil the fallacy of
those who raise objections against Qurbani on the
basis of economic calculations and depict it to be
a wastage of money, resources and livestock.
Unable to see beyond mundane benefits, they
cannot understand the spirit Islam wants to plant
and nourish among its followers, the spirit of total
submission to Allah’s will which equips man with
most superior qualities so necessary to keep
humanity in a state of lasting peace and welfare.
Qurbani is nothing but a powerful symbol of the
required human conduct vis-a-vis the divine
commands, however “irrational” or “uneconomic”
they may seem to be in their appearance. Thus,
the distrustful quest for mundane economic
benefits behind Qurbani is, in fact, the negation of
its real philosophy and the very spirit underlying it.
No doubt, there are in every form of worship
ordained by Allah, certain worldly benefits too, but
they are not the main purpose of these prescribed
duties, nor should they be treated as a pre-
condition to submission and obedience. All acts of
worship, including Qurbani, must be carried out
with a spirit of total submission to Allah,
irrespective of their economic, social or political
benefits. This is what Ibrahim, Alayhi Salam, did,
and this is what every true Muslim is required to
do,
Keeping this in view, we are giving here some rules
governing the worship of Qurbani in our Shari’ah
according to the Hanafi School.
The Time of Qurbani
Qurbani can only be performed during the three
days of Eid, namely the 10th, Ilth and 12th of
Zulhijjah. It is only in these days that slaughtering
of an animal is recognized as an act of worship.
No Qurbani can be performed in any other days of
the year.
Although Qurbani is permissible on each of the
three aforesaid days, yet it is preferable to perform
it on the first day i.e. the 10th of Zulhijjah.
No Qurbani is allowed before the Eid prayer is
over. However, in small villages where the Eid
prayer is not to be performed, Qurbani can be
offered’ any time after the break of dawn on the
10th of Zulhijjah.
Qurbani can also be performed in the two nights
following the Eid day, but it is more advisable to
perform it during daytime.
Who is Required to Perform Qurbani ?
Every adult Muslim, male or female, who owns
613.35 grams of silver or its equivalent in money,
personal ornaments, stock-in-trade or any other
form of wealth which is surplus to his basic needs,
is under an obligation to offer a Qurbani. Each
adult member of a family who owns the above
mentioned amount must perform his own Qurbani
separately. If the husband owns the required
quantity, but the wife does not, the Qurbani
obligatory on the husband only and vice-versa. If
both of them have the prescribed amount of
wealth, both should perform Qurbani separately.
If the adult children live with their parents, Qurbani
is obligatory on each one of them possessing the
prescribed amount. The Qurbani offered by a
husband for himself does not fulfil the obligation of
his wife, nor can the Qurbani offered by a father
discharge his son or daughter from their
obligation. Each one of them should care for his
own.
However, if a husband or a father, apart from
offering his own Qurbani, gives another Qurbani on
behalf of his wife or his son, he can do so with
their permission.
No Alternate for Qurbani
Some people think that instead of offering a
Qurbani they should give its amount to some poor
people as charity. This attitude is totally wrong.
Actually, there are different forms of worship
obligatory on Muslims. Each one of them has its
own importance and none of them can stand for
the other. It is not permissible for a Muslim to
perform salah instead of fasting in Ramadan, nor is
it permissible for him to give some charity instead
of observing the obligatory Salah. Similarly,
Qurbani is an independent form of worship and this
obligation cannot be discharged by spending
money in charity.
However, if somebody, out of his ignorance or
negligence, could not offer Qurbani on the three
prescribed days (10th, 1lth and 12th Zulhijjah)
then, in that case only, he can give the price of a
Qurbani as sadaqah to those entitled to receive
Zakah . But during the days of Qurbani no Sadaqah
can discharge the obligation.
The Animals of Qurbani
The following animals can be slaughtered to offer a
Qurbani :
1. Goat, either male or female, of at least one year
of age.
2. Sheep, either male or female, of at least six
months of age.
3. Cow, ox buffalo of at least two years of age.
4. Camel, male or female, of at least five years of
age.
One head of goat or sheep is enough only for one
person’s Qurbani. But as for all other animals like
cow, buffalo or camel, one head of each is equal to
seven offerings thus allowing seven persons to
offer Qurbani jointly in one such animal.
If the seller of animal claims that the animal is of
the recognized age and there is no apparent
evidence to the contrary; one can trust his
statement and the sacrifice of such an animal is
lawful.
Rules about Defective Animals
The following defective animals are not acceptable
in Qurbani:
1. Blind, one eyed or lame animal.
2. An animal so emaciated that it cannot walk to
its slaughtering place.
3. An animal with one-third part of the ear or the
nose or the tail missing.
4. An animal that has no teeth at all, or the major
number of its teeth are missing.
5. An animal born without ears.
The following animals are acceptable in Qurbani :
1. A castrated he – goat. (Rather, its Qurbani is
more preferable).
2. An animal that has no horns, or its horns are
broken. However, if the horns of an animal are
uprooted totally so as to create a defect in the
brain, its Qurbani is not lawful.
3. An animal the missing part of whose ear, nose
or tail is less than one third.
4. A sick or injured animal, unless it has some
above mentioned defects rendering its Qurbani
unlawful.
The Sunnah Method of Qurbani
It is more preferable for a Muslim to slaughter the
animal of his Qurbani with his own hands.
However, if he is unable to slaughter the animal
himself, or does not want to do so for some
reason, he can request another person to slaughter
it on his behalf. In this case also, it is more
preferable that he, at least, be present at the time
of slaughter. However, his absence at the time of
slaughter does not render the Qurbani invalid, if he
has authorized the person who slaughtered the
animal on his behalf. It is a Sunnah to lay the
animal with its face towards the Qiblah, and to
recite the following verse of the Holy Quran:
I, being upright, turn my face towards the One who
has created the heavens and the earth, and I am
not among those who associate partners with
Allah. ( Al-An’am, 6:79)
But the most essential recitation when slaughtering
an animal is: Bismillah, Allahu Akbar. (In the name
of Allah, Allah is the greatest). If somebody
intentionally avoids to recite it when slaughtering
an animal, it does not only make his Qurbani
unlawful, but also renders the animal haram, and it
is not permissible to eat the meat of that animal.
However, if a person did not avoid this recitation
intentionally, but he forgot to recite it when
slaughtering the animal, this mistake is forgiven
and both the Qurbani and the slaughter are lawful.
If somebody is unable to recite “Bismillah Allahu
Akbar” in the Arabic language, he can recite the
name of Allah in his own language by saying, “In
the name of Allah”.
Distribution of the Meat
If an animal is sacrificed by more than one person,
like cow or camel, its meat should be distributed
equally among its owners by weighing the meat
strictly and not at random or by mere guess. Even
if all the partners agree on its distribution without
weighing, it is still not permissible according to
shari’ah .
However, if the actual weighing is not practicable
due to some reason, and all the partners agree to
distribute the meat without weighing, distribution
by guess can be done with the condition that each
share necessarily contains either a leg of the
animal or some quantity of its liver.
Although the person offering a Qurbani can keep
all its meat for his own use, yet, it is preferable to
distribute one-third among the poor, another one-
third among his relatives and then, keep the rest
for his personal consumption.
All parts of the sacrificed animal can be used for
personal benefit, but none can be sold, nor can be
given to the butcher as a part of his wages. If
somebody has sold the meat of the Qurbani or its
skin, he must give the accrued price as sadaqah to
a poor man who can receive Zakah.
Hajj
The most important way of worship performed in
this month is “ hajj “, one of the five pillars of Islam.
The Muslims from every part of the world assemble
in Arabia to perform this unique way of worship.
Hajj is a worship, which requires at least five days
to be performed in its proper way. There are
detailed rules for different acts ofhajj for which
separate books are available, and the present
article does not aim at explaining all these details.
However, some basic information about its
obligation is being given here:
1. Hajj is obligatory on every adult Muslim who
can afford to go to Makkah during the hajj season,
whether on foot or by any other carriage.
2. If a person can travel to Makkah to perform hajj ,
but he cannot travel to Madinah, hajj is obligatory
on him also. He can perform hajj without visiting
Madinah.
3. A Muslim woman cannot travel for hajj unless
she is accompanied by a mahram (i.e. husband or
relative of a prohibited degree like son, father,
brother etc.) If she does not find any mahram to
accompany her, hajj is not obligatory on her until
she finds one. However, she must make a will that
in case she dies before performing hajj , his heirs
should arrange for her hajj-e-badal out of her left
over property.
4. Hajj is obligated only once in one’s life. After
performing the obligatory hajj ; one is not required
to perform it again. However, he can perform the
nafl (optional hajj as many times as he or she
wishes.)

We are entering the blessed days of Dhul Hijjah. As we all know these are most blessed days of the year.
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allaah than these ten days.” They said: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allaah?” He said: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allaah, unless a man goes out himself for jihad taking his wealth with him and does not come back with anything.”(Bukhari)
And among the greatest of deeds we can participate in, besides hajj, are fasting, reciting dhikr and offering the udhiya on ‘Eid.
. ” It was reported from Abu Qutaadah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was asked about fasting on the Day of ‘Arafaah. He said, “It expiates for the sins of the previous year and of the coming year.” Narrated by Muslim.
This (fasting) is mustahabb for those who are not on Hajj. In the case of the one who is on Hajj, it is not Sunnah for him to fast on the Day of ‘Arafaah, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not fast on this day in ‘Arafaah. It was narrated that he forbade fasting on the Day of ‘Arafaah in ‘Arafaah.”

Hadith for you - Sahih Al Bukhari - Book of Menstrual Periods
Volume 001, Book 006, Hadith Number 293.
-----------------------------------------
Narrated By Al-Qasim : 'Aisha said, "We set out with the sole intention of performing Hajj and when we reached Sarif, (a place six miles from Mecca) I got my menses. Allah's Apostle came to me while I was weeping. He said 'What is the matter with you? Have you got your menses?' I replied, 'Yes.' He said, 'This is a thing which Allah has ordained for the daughters of Adam. So do what all the pilgrims do with the exception of the Taw-af (Circumambulation) round the Ka'ba." 'Aisha added, "Allah's Apostle sacrificed cows on behalf of his wives."
For those going to do Qurbani(slaughter Ram)?
Last Day to cut hair and nails is Wednesday 29 Dhu Qadah (24 September 2014)
Moon could be sighted on Wednesday Night. As a precaution, one should Cut on Wednesday.
It is mustahab/ desirable for the one who will be sacrificing an animal for qurbānī to avoid cutting their hair or nails until after the animal is slaughtered. Rasulullah salallahu alayhi wasallam said:
“When the ten days (of Dhul Hijjah) begin and a person has an animal for sacrifice which he intends to slaughter, then let him not cut his hair or trim his nails.” (Muslim)
Rasulullah salallahu alayhi wasallam said in another Hadith:
“Whoever has an animal for slaughtering, once the crescent of Dhul Hijjah has been declared he should not cut his hair or trim his nails until he has sacrificed (the animal)” (Muslim)
It is a recommended act due to the Hadīth. However, if one did cut his hair and/or nails during the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah before sacrificing, it will not affect the validity of making qurbānī
may Allah accept our intentions and all our ibadah. Amin!

Virtues of the first ten days of Dhu'l-Hijjah

Virtues of the first ten days of Dhu'l-Hijjah
Among the great seasons of worship are the first ten days of Dhu’l-Hijjah, which Allah (Allah Subhanahu-wa-Taala ) has favored over other days. It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbaas ( MALE radi-allahu-anhu ) that the Prophet ( SAW ) said: “There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” They said: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah?” He said: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah, unless a man goes out himself for jihad taking his wealth with him and does not come back with anything.” 1
It was also narrated from Anas ( MALE radi-allahu-anhu ) that the Prophet ( SAW ) said: “There is no deed that is better before Allah or more greatly rewarded than a good deed done in the (first) ten days of al-Adha.” It was said: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah?” He said: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah, unless a man goes out himself for jihad taking his wealth with him and does not come back with anything.” 2
These texts and others indicate that these ten days are better than all other days of the year, with no exception, even the last ten days of Ramadaan. But the last ten nights of Ramadaan are better than the first ten nights of Dhu’l-Hijjah, because they include Laylat al-Qadr, which is better than a thousand months.
So the Muslim should start these days with sincere repentance to Allah ( Allah Subhanahu-wa-Taala ), then he should do a lot of righteous deeds in general, then he should pay attention to doing the following deeds:
1. Fasting
It is Sunnah for a Muslim to fast on the first nine days of Dhu’l-Hijjah, because the Prophet ( SAW ) encouraged us to do righteous deeds in the first ten days of Dhu’l-Hijjah, and fasting is one of the best of deeds, which Allah has chosen for Himself. 3
It was narrated from Hunaydah ibn Khaalid from his wife, that one of the wives of the Prophet ( SAW ) said: The Prophet ( SAW ) used to fast on the first nine days of Dhu’l-Hijjah and the day of ‘Ashoora’, and three days each month, the first Monday of the month and two Thursdays. 4
2 – Reciting tahmeed, tahleel and takbeer abundantly
It is Sunnah to recite takbeer (saying Allaahu akbar (Allah is most great)), tahmeed (saying al-hamdu Lillah (praise be to Allah)), tahleel (saying Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah (There is no god but Allah)) and tasbeeh (saying Subhaan-Allah (Glory be to Allah)), during the first ten days of Dhu’l-Hijjah, saying these words out loud in the mosques, homes, streets and every place in which it is permissible to remember Allah ( Allah Subhanahu-wa-Taala ), to perform this act of worship openly and proclaim the greatness of Allah ( Allah Subhanahu-wa-Taala ).
Men should recite out loud and women should recite quietly.
Allah says: “That they may witness benefits for themselves and mention the name of Allah on known days over what He has provided for them of [sacrificial] animals. So eat of them and feed the miserable and poor” [al-Hajj 22:28]
The majority are of the view that the “appointed days” are the first ten days of Dhu’l-Hijjah, because it was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbaas ( MALE radi-allahu-anhu ) that the appointed days are the first ten days of Dhu’l-Hijjah.
It was narrated from ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Umar ( MALE radi-allahu-anhu ) that the Prophet ( SAW ) said: “There are no days that are greater before Allah or in which good deeds are more beloved to Him, than these ten days, so recite a great deal of tahleel, takbeer and tahmeed during them.” 5
The takbeer is as follows:
Allaahu akbar, Allaahu akbar, laa ilaaha ill-Allaah, Allaahu akbar, wa Lillaah il-hamd (Allah is Most Great, Allah is Most Great, there is no god but Allah; Allah is Most Great and to Allah be praise).
3 – Doing Hajj and ‘Umrah
One of the greatest deeds that can be done during these ten days is Hajj to the sacred House of Allah ( Allah Subhanahu-wa-Taala ). Whoever Allah ( Allah Subhanahu-wa-Taala ) helps to go on Hajj to His House and do the rituals in the required manner will – in sha Allah – be included in the words of the Messenger of Allah ( SAW ): “An accepted Hajj brings no less a reward than Paradise.”
4 – Udhiyah (
One of the righteous deeds that bring a person closer to Allah in these ten days is to slaughter the sacrifice and to look for a good, fat animal and to spend money on it for the sake of Allah ( Allah Subhanahu-wa-Taala ).
Let us hasten to make the most of these great days, before the negligent regrets what he did, and before he asks to go back and receives no response.

That NANS Solidarity Visit To The Jonathans By Daniel Onjeh

The Chibok school girls who are their immediate constituency have been living in nightmare since their abduction over 145 days ago, yet not a word was uttered about them by Mr. Gbadebo and his coterie of shameless sycophants. This is wicked, heartless, unconscionable and in bad taste.

(Q) Assalaam Alaikum – My name is Haji Muhammed.
Brother Zakir… Brother Zakir, you mentioned in your
talk that Jesus never claimed Divinity. But it is
mentioned in the Bible that Jesus said… ‘I and my
father are one’ Does this not simply that he claimed
Divinity?
(Dr. Zakir) Brother has asked a question that I said in
my talk, that nowhere does the Bible say ‘that Jesus
Christ (peace be upon him) claimed Divinity’ - And he
gave a quotation of the Bible, that Jesus said ‘I and my
father one’. What the brother is quoting is, a verse from
the Bible, in the Gospel of John, Ch. No.10, Verse
No.30, which does say… ‘I and my father are one’. But
when you ask the Christian missionaries, that… ‘What
is the context?’ I have not yet met a Christian
missionary, who can tell you the context without
opening the Bible. He knows ‘I and my father are one’,
but he does not know the context. For example, if I
quote to someone, that the Qur’an says, ‘Does not pray’
- Most of the Muslims would be shocked - what am I
saying? And if you open it up, it says… ‘Do not pray’ -
but its half the verse. Surah Nisa Ch.4, Verse No.43,
says ‘Do not pray with your mind befogged’ - Do not
pray when you are intoxicated. So if I only quote… Do
not pray - It will mean Qur’an says, ‘Don’t pray’ – half
the quotation. So for the context, ‘I and my father are
one’ - you have to go to the Gospel of John, Ch. No.10,
Verse No. 23, and I am quoting from my memory, that
‘Jesus walked into the temple, in Solomon’s porch’.
Verse No. 24 says, and the Jews came around him and
asked him. ‘How long does thou make us doubt? - If
thou art the Christ, tell us plainly’. Verse No.25 says, ‘I
told you, but you believe me not - the works that I do in
my father’s name, - they bear witness of me. Verse
No.26 says that, ‘you believe not because you are not
my sheep, as I said unto you’.
The Jews, they are asking Jesus Christ (peace be upon
him) that ‘Why don’t you speak plainly?’. So he tells
them that…‘Yes I am the Messiah - I have told you
clearly, but because you are not my sheep, you don’t
believe in me. Verse No.27 continues…Jesus Christ
(peace be upon him) continues saying that… ‘My sheep
- they hear my voice, and I know them - and they follow
me. Verse No.28, that… ‘I give them eternal life - no
man can pluck them out of my hand, and they shall not
perish’. Verse No.29 says ‘My father who giveth to me,
He is greater than all - No man can pluck them out of
my father’s hand. Then Verse No. 30 says, ‘I and my
father are one’ – ‘Any person who has little bit sense
can make out, ‘I and my father are one’ doesn’t mean
one - as one person. It means one is purpose. Verse
No.28 says, ‘No man can pluck them out of my hand –
Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) says- ‘No man can
pluck them out of my hand’. Verse No.29 is saying. ‘No
man can pluck them out of my father’s hand’. Verse
No.30 says ‘I and my father are one’ -In purpose. Both
Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) and Almighty God -
they are one in purpose. If I say that my father is a
doctor… and he is a doctor… Alhamdulillah - Even I am
a medical doctor. If I say, ‘I and my father are one’ -
What does it mean? It means one in purpose - As
medical profession, my father is a doctor - Even I am a
doctor. It doesn’t mean that ‘I and my father are one’. It
means my father is a medical doctor - even I am a
medical doctor. But Christians say ‘No.. No – it means
‘one’ - actual Unity. So we say… ‘Okay, you say actual
unity… let us read further’. If you go ahead in the
Gospel of John, Ch. No.17, Verse No.21, it says that,
Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) said that… ‘Ye all of
them are one - My father in me, and I in thee, we all are
one’.
‘Does it mean that God Almighty, is in Jesus Christ…
and Jesus Christ is in all his 12 disciples. So there will
be 14 gods - Jesus Christ, God Almighty, and 12
disciples. The same ‘one’ is used there, and here. If you
go to the source, the same word is used - If you go to
the Greek… the same word is used - So does it mean
you have 14 gods? And among those disiples, Judas was
a traitor -. Even he is God? Thomas doubted Jesus
Christ (peace be upon him ) - is he God? - ‘Peter’ - Jesus
Christ says … ‘is satanic?’- Is he also God? No, - all of
them, God Almighty - Jesus Christ and the Apostles,
are one in purpose - they are same. Again if you go 2
verses ahead - Gospel of John, Ch. 17, Verse 23, says
that, ‘I am in thee, and you are in me’… he tells the
disciples. Does it make all them God? No! It means one
in purpose. But then Christians will say, ‘I have quoted
the first part... why don’t you quote after that... after
Verse No.30 - Gospel of John Chapter 10. Lets go ahead
- Gospel of John, Ch. No. 10, Verse No.31. says, ‘And
Jews picked up stones again, to stone at Jesus (peace be
upon him) Verse No. 32, says… ‘And Jesus (peace be
upon him) asked them - for which of the good works of
my father, do you stone me?’ Verse No. 33, says
that…‘We don’t’ stone you for any good works, but
because you blashpheme – being a man, you call
yourself God – that is why we stone you’. Verbatim…I
am reading from my memory - Any person who wants
to check up, can check up. It is there in the Bible -
Gospel of John, Ch. 10, Verse 23 onwards… I am
quoting. So Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) gives the
answer - the Jews say that see he is trying to
blaspheme, calling himself ‘God’.
Good riddance - they want to kill him - good riddance.
The Christians say ooh! the Jews called him God
Almighty - See they understood him correctly - for
redemption. One wants for redemption - they are
calling him God - the other group of people for good
riddance. But the answer is given in the next verse -
Verse no. 34, of John Ch. 10, Gospel of John, Ch. 10,
says that…‘Is it not mentioned in your Scriptures that
ye are gods? - and if the person to whom the word’ of
God came … if he says… ‘god’ - the Scripture is not
broken. If you check up in the Bible, in the Psalms, Ch.
No. 82, Verse No.6, does say that, ‘Ye are gods’. So
Jesus Christ gave the answer, that the person to whom
the ‘Word’ of God came, if you call him ‘God’, it is not
blaspheme. It is meaning that… they are one in
purpose. Hope that answers the question

eternal life means what ? to follow his commandment,
Read the bibl Gospel of Mathew Ch 19 Verse 17-20. "If
you want to enter into kingdom of heavens ? keep the
commandment" this is how you get eternal life. Jesus
said gospal of Mark Ch 12 Verse 29 "Hear you is Israel
your lord, your God is one God.
IS JESUS IS GOD ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE ? discussing the biblical evidence that Jesus is not God. 1. Bible Says that God is not Man The Bible says: Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man…” Hosea 11:9 “...For I am God, and not man...” Jesus is called a man many times in the Bible: John 8:40 “…a man who has told you the truth…” Acts 2:22 “Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know.” Acts 17:31 “He will judge the world in righteousness through a man whom He has appointed” 1. Tim. 2:5 “…the man Christ Jesus.” God is not a man, but Jesus, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, was a man, therefore, Jesus was not God. 2. The Bible Says that God Is Not a Son of Man Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man...nor a son of man…” The Bible often calls Jesus “a son of man” or “the son of man.” Matthew 12:40 “…so will the son of man be…” Matthew 16:27 “For the son of man is going to come…” Matthew 28 “…until they see the son of man coming in His kingdom.” Mark 2:10 “But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority…” John 5:27 “…because He is the son of man.” In the Hebrew Scriptures, the “son of man” is also used many times speaking of people (Job 25:6; Psalm 80:17; 144:3; Ezekiel 2:1; 2:3; 2:6; 2:8; 3:1; 3:3; 3:4; 3:10; 3:17; 3:25). Since God would not contradict Himself by first saying He is not the son of a man, then becoming a human being who was called “the son of man”, he would not have done so. Remember God is not the author of confusion. Also, human beings, including Jesus, are called “son of man” specifically to distinguish them from God, who is not a “son of man” according to the Bible. 3. The Bible Says that Jesus Denied He is God Luke 18:19 Jesus spoke to a man who had called him “good,” asking him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.” Matthew 19:17 And he said to him, “Why are you asking me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.” Jesus did not teach people that he was God. If Jesus had been telling people that he was God, he would have complimented the man. Instead, Jesus rebuked him, denying he was good, that is, Jesus denied he was God. 4. The Bible Says that God is Greater than Jesus John 14:28 “My Father is greater than I.” John 10:29 “My father is greater than all.” Jesus can not be God if God is greater than him. The Christian belief that the Father and son are equal is in direct contrast to the clear words from Jesus. 5. Jesus Never Instructed His Disciples to Worship Himself or the Holy Ghost, but God and God Only Luke 11:2 “When you pray, say Our Father which art in heaven.” John 16:23 “In that day, you shall ask me nothing. Whatsoever you ask of the Father in my name.” John 4:23 “The hour cometh and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father seeketh such to worship him.” If Jesus was God, he would have sought worship for himself. Since he didn’t, instead he sought worship for God in the heavens, therefore, he was not God. 6. The Bible Says that Jesus Recognized, Prayed, & Worshipped the Only True God Jesus prayed to God with the words: John 17:3 “…that they might know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.” Jesus prayed to God all night: Luke 6:12 “he continued all night in prayer to God.” …because: Matthew 20:28: Just as the son of man did not come to be served, but to serve. How did Jesus pray to God? Matthew 26:39 ‘…he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, ‘My Father…” Even Paul said: Hebrews 5:7 “During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.” Who was Jesus praying to when he fell on his face with loud cries and petitions? Was it himself? Was Jesus crying in tears to himself pleading to be saved from death? No man, sane or insane, prays to himself! Surely the answer must be a resounding ‘No.’ Jesus was praying to “the only true God.” Jesus was the servant of the One Who sent him. Can there be a clearer proof that Jesus was not God? The Quran confirms that Jesus called for the worship of the Only True God: “Truly, God is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him (alone). This is the straight path.” (Quran 3:51) 7. The Bible says that the disciples did not believe Jesus was God. The Acts of the Apostles in the Bible details the activity of the disciples over a period of thirty years after Jesus, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, was raised to heaven. Throughout this period, they never referred to Jesus as God. For instance Peter stood up with the eleven disciples and addressed a crowd saying: Acts 2:22 “Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know.” For Peter, Jesus was a servant of God (confirmed in Matthew 12:18): Acts 3:13 “The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus.” Acts 3:26 “God raised up his servant...” When faced by opposition from the authorities, Peter said: Acts 5:29-30 “We must obey God rather than men! The God of our fathers raised Jesus...” The disciples prayed to God just as they were commanded by Jesus in Luke 11:2, and considered Jesus to be God’s servant, Acts 4:24 “...they raised their voices together in prayer to God. ‘Sovereign Lord,’ they said, ‘you made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything in them.’” Acts 4:27 “...your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed.” Acts 4:30 “…of Your holy servant Jesus.” This is exactly what the Quran states of Jesus: Quran 19: 30 “…I am indeed a servant of God.” 8. The Bible says that Jesus was God’s servant, chosen one, and beloved. Matt. 12:18 “Behold, My servant, whom I have chosen, in whom My soul is well pleased.” Since Jesus is God’s servant, Jesus can not be God. 9. The Bible says that Jesus could not Do Anything by Himself. John 5:19 “The son can do nothing by himself; he can only do what he sees his Father doing.” John 5:30 “I can of mine own self do nothing.” Jesus did not consider himself equal with God, rather he denied doing anything by himself. 10. The Bible says that God performed miracles through Jesus & Jesus was limited in what he could do. Matt. 9:8 “But when the crowds saw this, they were awestruck, and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.” Acts 2:22 “a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst.” Acts 10:38 “…he went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” If Christ was God, the Bible would simply say that Jesus did the miracles himself without making reference to God. The fact that it was God supplying the power for the miracles shows that God is greater than Jesus. Also, Jesus was limited in performing miracles. One time when Jesus tried to heal a blind man, the man was not healed after the first attempt, and Jesus had to try a second time (Mark 8:22-26). Once a woman was healed of her incurable bleeding. The woman came up behind him and touched his cloak, and she was immediately healed. But Jesus had no idea who touched him: Mark 5:30 “At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, ‘Who touched my clothes?’” Mark 6:5 “He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them.” Quite obviously, someone with such limitations can not be God. The power of miracles was not within Jesus. 11. The Bible says that at times of weakness angels strengthened Jesus; God ,however, does not need to be strengthened. Luke 22:43 “An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him [in the garden of Gethsemane].” Mk. 1:13 “Then the devil left him; and behold, angels came and began to minister to Him.” Mark 1:13 “And he was in the wilderness forty days being tempted by Satan; and he was with the wild beasts, and the angels were ministering to him.” Men need to be strengthened; God does not because God is All-Powerful. If Jesus had to be strengthened, he must not be God. 12. The Bible says that Jesus wanted God’s will to be done, not his own. Luke 22:42: “not my will but Yours be done.” John 5:30 “I do not seek my own will, but the will of Him who sent me.” John 6:38 “For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of Him that sent me.” Are some members of the coequal Trinity subservient, and less than equal, to other members? Even though they have different wills (“I do not seek my own will”), do they obey without question the others’ commands (“the will of Him who sent me”)? Jesus admits to subordinating his own distinct will, yet according to the Trinitarian doctrine they should all have the same will. Should one of the triune partners have to forgo his own will in favor of the will of another member of the Trinity? Should not they all have the exact same will? 13. The Bible says Jesus regarded God’s testimony as separate from his own. Jesus regarded himself and God as two, not “one.” John 8:17 and 18: “I am one who testifies for myself; my other witness is the Father.” John 14:1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.” If Jesus was God, He would have not have regarded God’s testimony as separate from his own. 14. The Bible says that Jesus is subordinate to God 1 Corinthians 11:3 “Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.” 1 Corinthians 15:28 “When he has done this, then the son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.” Since Jesus was subordinate to God, he was not God. 15. Bible says that Jesus grew in wisdom & learning, but God is All Wise & does not (need to) learn Jesus grew in wisdom, but God is all wise: Psalms 147:5 “Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite.” Luke 2:52: “And Jesus increased in wisdom.” God does not need to learn, but Jesus learned. Heb. 5:8 “Although he was a son, he learned obedience…” 16. Bible says that Jesus had limited knowledge, but god’s knowledge is infinite Mark 13:32 “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the son, but only the Father.” Since Jesus, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, did not know, he was not all-knowing, and therefore, he cannot be the God whose knowledge is all- encompassing. 17. Bible says that Jesus was tempted, but God cannot be tempted Heb. 4:15 “tempted in every way—just as we are” James 1:13 “for God cannot be tempted by evil” Since God can not be tempted, but Jesus was, therefore, Jesus was not God. 18. Bible says that Jesus’ teachings were from God, NOT Jesus himself John 7:16 “So Jesus answered them and said, "My teaching is not mine, but His who sent me.” Jesus could not have said this if he were God because the doctrine would have been his. 19. Bible says that Jesus died, but God cannot die The Bible teaches that Jesus died. God cannot die. Romans 1:23 and other verses say that God is immortal. Immortal means, “not subject to death.” This term applies only to God. 20. Bible says that Jesus lived because of God John 6:57 “I live because of the Father.” Jesus cannot be God because he depended on God for his own existence. 21. Bible says that Jesus’ powers were given to him Matt 28:18 “All power is given unto me.” God is all-powerful, no one gives God His powers, otherwise He would not be God because He would be weak. Therefore, Jesus could not be God. 22. Bible says that Jesus was taught & commanded by God John 8:28 “As my Father hath taught me, I speak these things,” John 12:49 “The Father, who sent me, he gave me a commandment.” John 15:10 “I have kept my Father’s commandments.” No one can teach God, otherwise God cannot be All- Knowing and would owe His teacher. Since Jesus was taught and commanded by God, Jesus cannot be God himself. The teacher and the student, the commander and the commanded are not one. 23. Bible says that God made Jesus “Lord” Acts 2:36 “God has made this Jesus... both Lord and Christ.” “Lord” is used in many ways in the Bible, and others beside God and Jesus are called “Lord.” For example: 1) property owners (Matt. 20:8) 2) heads of households (Mk 13:35) 3) slave owners (Matt. 10:24) 4) husbands (1 Pet. 3:6) 5) a son called his father Lord (Matt. 21:30) 6) the Roman Emperor was called Lord (Acts 25:26) 7) Roman authorities were called Lord (Matt. 27:63) “Lord” is not the same as “God.” “Lord” (the Greek word is kurios) is a masculine title of respect and nobility used many times in the Bible. If Jesus were God, then for the Bible to say he was “made” Lord would make no sense. 24. Bible says that Jesus was lower than angels Hebrews 2:9 “But we do see him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus.” God, the Creator of angels, can not be lower than His own creation, but Jesus was. ThereforJesus was not God. 25. Bible says that Jesus called the Father “my God” Matt. 27:46 “My God, My God, why have You forsaken me?” John 20:17 “I ascend to my Father and your Father, and my God and your God.” Rev. 3:12 “… the temple of my God… the name of my God… the city of my God… comes down out of heaven from my God.” Jesus did not think of himself as God, instead Jesus’ God is the same as ours. 26. Bible says that God cannot be seen, but Jesus was John 1:18 “no man has seen God at any time.
